Bahadurgarh is a city and a municipal council with 31 ward in Jhajjar district in the state of Haryana, India. It is called "Gateway of Haryana" and famous for its delicious Pakoras.

History
Bahadurgarh was founded by Hari and formerly known as king of the world. Mughal Emperor Alamgir II (The Sultan of Delhi 1754-1759) gave the town in jagir to Bahadur Khan and Tej Khan, Baloch rulers of Farrukhnagar in 1754, who changed its name from Sharafabad to Bahadurgarh .
A fort named Bahadurgarh Fort was constructed there by them. Bahadurgarh came into the hands of Sindhia in 1793. After his defeat in 1803 at the hands of the British, Lord Lake handed the town to the brother of the Nawab of Jhajjar. It was confiscated after the First War of Independence (1857) and became a division of the Rohtak district in 1860.In 1997, the town got attached with Jhajjar after Jhajjar become new district bifurcated from Rohtak. But Bahadurgarh is still larger to Jhajjar in every term; be it education, economy, population or administration.
The town and its villages have been the birth-place of Martyrs & Heroes of the Indian Armed Forces.It has many famous doctors,engineers and educationist.

Geography
Bahadurgarh is located at 28.68°N 76.92°E. It has an average elevation of 206 metres (675 feet). Bahadurgarh is the upcoming NCR of New Delhi, capital of India. Bahadurgarh is upcoming like Gurgaon and Faridabad. It is well connected through rail and road network to the capital of nation. Though Bahadurgarh is not exactly on the tourist map of India, but the beauty of the town lies in its culture and character. Some of the interesting places to visit are: Fun Town (Asaudha), Hindustan National Glass, Hindware, Somany Tiles, Parle Biscuits, Sega India Ltd and Prakash Surya G.I Pipes. The companies listed above offer a great experience with their technologically advanced plants, but a tour can be arranged only by an employee of the company itself.

Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Bahadurgarh had a population of 119,839. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Bahadurgarh has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Area of Bahadurgarh city is approx. 50 km2. Bahadurgarh is one of the fastest developing Town in the NCR region. It is located to the west of Delhi on the National Highway Number 10. As of 2007, Bahadurgarh is gaining popularity as a residential locale for businessmen and public sector employees working in Delhi. It has four residential sectors developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority HUDA. Sector-6 is the oldest and most developed of all. Surrounded by lush greenery, it is considered to be the most spacious sector developed in Haryana by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). It has good transportation links all around. The Footwear park at sector 16 & 17 is an upcoming industrial area. Omaxe, Times Square & PDM are building a township with mall, hospital, school and society.
Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it retains its small town charm while being stone's throw from Delhi. It is a peaceful town that is growing very fast. Delhi Metro is supposed to come to the city by 2012. Electric Rail Service will be up and running by the end of 2009. Ongoing KMP Highway, Reliance Sez & Yokohama Plant are going to play a vital role in the development of Bahadurgarh.

Education and Perfection
Bahadurgarh has always had a good choice of providing education. There are numerous schools which have emerged in the last couple of decades among which Bal Bharti School is the best with an established foothold. St. Thomas School is best followed by others. The recent entrant into school education is Delhi Public School (DPS) located on Jhajjar Road.
Bahadurgarh is in close proximity with Gurgaon (30 km), IT hub in NCR region. Therefore IT and Management institutes have a good option for their student's placements.PDM College of Engineering a premier engineering college of the state is also located in Bahadurgarh. It has three engineering colleges with in city boundaries.
Apart from them, the city has been a major centre for girls' education as there is a dedicated Govt. Girls College which offers regular Bachlor courses & B.Ed for which girls from even Delhi come down to the city to pursue the course.
Computer education is also quite abundant with numerous private computer institutes operating & enpowering the students with knowledge.

Library
There is a library named as 'Sanskriti Library' in Bahadurgarh run by Sanskriti Society. The only library in Bahadurgarh is in Line Par area and is absolutely free for public.
Religious Point
The town boasts a large number of place of worship with its mixed culture. The Sacred Dargah of Sayyad Baba at Jhajjar Road, Lord Hanuman Temple on NH-10. The Temple of Saint Kabir Sahib near the Govt. Girls school, one of the oldest Mahaveer Mandir in Main Bazar, Lord Shiva's Temple at Aggarwal Colony and Shaktimata Peeth; one of the most beautiful temples in sector -6 are some of the most important places of worship in Bahadurgarh. In this area a very ancient Hanuman Temple located at Najafgarh Road.

Political Scenario
Mr. Rajender Singh Joon of Congress(I) Party is presently M.L.A here. Bahadurgarh is a part of Rohtak Constituency and in 2009 Lok Sabha general elections Deepender Singh Hooda.

Indian Society for Applied Research & Development (ISARD), Sanskriti Society, NCR Research Group, New Age India, Ashirwad Jan Kalyan Samiti, Saarthi Sewa Sadan & Bharat Vikas Parishad are some Social/Research organizations of city, which are currently active for the upliftment of the society.
